Casey Reynolds-Purcell

Hello! I am Casey Reynolds-Purcell, and I am an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) in the state of Georgia and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Counselors. I am pursing being a registered play therapist (RPT) through the American Play Therapy Association. I received my B.S. in psychology from Georgia State University and my M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. 

I have over a decade of working with children and families in a variety of environments. I have worked in education as both a teacher and a para pro. My interest in pursuing a career in counseling started while working at Hillside Inc. which is a multi-care mental health facility that specializes in working with children and adolescents by using Dialectal Behavioral Therapy.

I specialize in working with children from ages 4 and up helping them cope with anxiety, regulating emotions, controlling anger, cope with depression, and build self-esteem. I utilize both a directive and non-directive approach depending upon the needs of my client. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the strongest tool in the path to healing, so I strive to build a strong rapport with all my clients. I believe in offering a safe space for my clients to authentically be themselves to discover who they are and what they need to achieve peace of mind. My goal in counseling is to teach people to find healthy ways of communicating with others while helping them find methods of coping with the demands of life in a therapeutic and positive way.

In my personal life I love spending time with my husband, son, and two dogs. My favorite thing to do is to work in our garden and vegetable garden and to go on bike adventures.
