Christal Brown

Hello, my name is Christal Brown. I’m a Michigan native and I just recently relocated to Georgia. I hold a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Community Counseling from Eastern Michigan University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

I have several years of experience working with children, adolescents as well as adults with developmental disabilities. My areas of interest include working with individuals that struggle with ADHD and ASD including challenging behavior, anxiety, and general life stressors. I also worked as an Infant Mental Health therapist, which focused on helping parents to understand the connection between primary relationships and its impact of the emotional and social development of their child. During our time together, we would discuss attachment, the significance of play, parenting styles as well as the origin and how it has influenced their parenting style. It was during this time, when I noticed that many parents are suffering in silence or experience shame as it relates to their children’s challenging behavior and it is my pleasure to provide the support, guidance and training for parents in need. I have a passion for working with children and parents with the use of play to help foster a positive, supportive and trusting relationship. In addition, I know that children can be misunderstood and labeled, when the cause of their behavior may be more than just what is on the surface. I believe in helping clients to discover and utilize tools so that they will be empowered to make the appropriate choices for their lives. Let us take this journey towards healing together, in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space.

Some fun facts about me: I love smoothies, pizza and French fries, in fact I could consume them every day if possible! I also enjoy aromatherapy, spending time with my husband, extended family, going for walks, watching frogs hope around outside, listening to music, singing, travelling and learning new vocabulary words.
