Insurance:
Some of our fully licensed therapists are contracted with Anthem/BCBS and Humana. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. We always encourage our clients to take time to call your insurer to find out more about your individual plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
We will also verify mental health coverage prior to your first session. To do so, we will need the following information:
- Your insurance company
- The customer service number on the back of the card
- Your member and group ID numbers
- The main subscriber’s date of birth as well as the client (if a child or spouse)
Please note that benefits are an agreement between you and your insurance company. We cannot guarantee any insurance coverage or reimbursement. If you have eligibility concerns or questions, you should contact your insurance provider directly.
If we are not an in-network provider, we can provide you with an invoice/super bill for you to file with your insurer. You would pay Sunshine Child & Family Counseling, then your insurer will pay you the out of network rate, check with your provider to find out the amount.
Our Associate Professional Counselors and Licensed Master Social Workers are not credentialed with any insurance panels therefore we cannot bill insurance for their services. However, we can give you a superbill with the director’s signature for potential out of network reimbursement. If you have questions, please ask us!
We also offer self-pay rates. Please contact us for our individual rates. Our rates are based upon each clinician’s level of experience. A reduced fee agreement can be given to clients upon need and request.
Telehealth:
We are now offering Telehealth services to all clients. We utilize Google Workspace which is a secure HIPAA compliant platform.
Most insurance companies are covering Telehealth services. Please reach out to us to set up an appointment or to ask more questions on how we can serve you. We look forward to working with clients and families in a technology friendly way!
Payment:
Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted for payment. If you chose to pay by credit card, there is a $3.00 charge to swipe your card.
Cancellation Policy:
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified your therapist at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. Insurance benefits do not cover the cost of missed appointments, so this would be your responsibility. This cancellation policy also applies to Telehealth appointments.
