Karli Littlefield, APC

Lauren Wallace and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor.

You lie awake at night wondering how to help your child.

Maybe they’re overwhelmed by anxiety, having frequent emotional outbursts, struggling to make friends, or shutting down around schoolwork and organization. Home can feel tense, mornings feel exhausting, and you’re left wondering what else to try when nothing seems to last.

More than anything, you want your child to feel calm, confident, and capable in their daily life—at home, at school, and with peers.

That’s where therapy can help.

I am an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) with a Master’s and Education Specialist degree in Counseling from the University of Florida. My experience includes working as a Preschool Teacher, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), and School Counselor for over three and a half years. This background gives me a strong understanding of how children function across home, school, and social settings, and how challenges often show up differently depending on the environment.

My Approach:

  • Build connection first – Children make progress when they feel safe, understood, and not judged. I focus on helping them feel comfortable enough to open up and engage in the process.
  • Teach practical, usable skills – Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play-based interventions, and structured coping strategies, I help children learn how to manage anxiety, regulate emotions, improve focus, and respond more effectively to challenges.
  • Strengthen real-world functioning – The goal is not just insight in session, but better behavior, emotional control, and confidence at home, at school, and with friends.
  • Partner closely with parents – Parents receive clear strategies and guidance so they know how to support progress outside of sessions and feel more confident responding to challenges in real time.

What Makes Me Different:

My background as a School Counselor, Preschool Teacher, and Registered Behavior Technician allows me to understand children from multiple angles—not just clinically, but developmentally and behaviorally in real environments.

Because of this, I focus on what actually translates into daily life: fewer emotional escalations, improved coping skills, stronger communication, and better functioning across settings.

Therapy works best when children feel supported and parents feel equipped with tools they can actually use. My role is to bridge that gap so progress doesn’t stay in the therapy room—it shows up at home and school.

Specialized Support For:

  • Children experiencing anxiety, worry, or emotional overwhelm
  • Children with ADHD, autism, or executive functioning challenges
  • Children who have frequent emotional outbursts or difficulty regulating emotions
  • Children struggling with friendship issues or social confidence
  • School refusal, academic stress, or organization challenges
  • Families wanting more peace, structure, and connection at home
“Every child has a story worth understanding and strengths worth discovering.”
