Kellie Lassig, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
My name is Kellie Lassig. I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and with a Master’s of Science in Counseling from the University of North Georgia. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
From 2015 to 2021, I worked at a children’s shelter for girls between the ages seven and twenty-one. The residents entered care there due to cases from the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) or through the juvenile court system. As a Direct Care Specialist, I learned ways to create a safe and open environment for the residents and assisted in providing a space for them to process their experiences. This is a skill I continue to utilize in my counseling career.
I enjoy working with clients between the ages of 12 to 17 and also adults. I have worked alongside individuals who have experienced anxiety, depression, social anxiety, and other life changes/adjustments. I am a big believer in identifying what works for each individual. No single person is the same as another. I do my best to meet clients where they are. I typically utilize an integrative approach that can include the following: person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and Adlerian.
When I am not at work, I enjoy going for drives in the mountains and exploring new places. This sometimes includes brief periods of getting lost on backroads. I also enjoy hiking and spending time with my family, friends, and pets. Self-care activities like these are very important to me.
