Lori Winston, APC, NCC
Your child is having frequent emotional outbursts, your teenager is withdrawing, or you’re an adult trying to heal from past experiences while managing current life stressors. Your family feels disconnected, communication has broken down, and you need someone who understands the complexity of helping everyone in the family find emotional wellness together.
As a faith-based Associate Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor, I bring a unique combination of therapeutic expertise and over 20 years of Montessori teaching experience to help families create peaceful homes. My background gives me deep insight into child development from both educational and therapeutic perspectives, allowing me to work effectively with children (ages 3+), teens, and adults simultaneously.
My Approach:
- Meet everyone where they are – Using my client-centered approach and warm demeanor to build the therapeutic bonds necessary for real change across age groups
- Build practical family skills – Combining Adlerian, CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed techniques to develop real-world strategies for emotional regulation, communication, and boundary-setting
- Strengthen the whole system – Working with entire families to improve communication and create the peaceful home environment you’ve been longing for
- Parent consultations – Supporting parents in understanding and implementing strategies that work for their unique family dynamics
What Makes Me Different: My 20+ years as a Montessori educator combined with my pursuit of Registered Play Therapist certification gives me unique insight into child development. I understand how to work with high-pressure environments—from academics to athletics to professional performance —and can help families navigate complex dynamics from multiple developmental perspectives.
Specialized Support For:
